Driver Hire, the UK’s largest specialist transport and logistics recruitment company are looking to recruit additional HGV Class 2 Drivers in 2024 to work on various contracts throughout Manchester, Tameside, Salford and Trafford Park.

Our HGV Class 2 Drivers are offered true flexibility to pick and choose your working days from various available contracts. Work can include simple trunking work to multidrop and you could be delivering timber, catering goods, moving vehicles or simple depot to depot deliveries.

Whether you are a HGV Class 2 driver that wants to work one day, all week, or various days to suit your home/work life balance, we want to hear from you. We would particularly like to hear from you if you have towing or winching experience, as we have a client that can offer highly sought after work for such a candidate.

HGV Class 2 Driver will need:

* Cat-C Licence

* Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card

* No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, IN's, TT's)

* Experience with ratchet straps

* Experience in a fast-paced multi-drop environment

* Excellent customer service skills and good literacy

* Full UK Driving licence, Class 2 entitlement held for a minimum of 1 year

* Able to work to tight deadlines

PLEASE NOTE, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FROM ANYBODY WHO HAS NO EXPERIENCE OF DRIVING THIS CLASS OF VEHICLE.

HGV Class 2 Driver Duties will include:

* Driving company vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws

* Carrying out required daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance

* Maintaining regular contact with Branch Managers on daily progress

* Completing paperwork accurately as instructed

* Dealing with customers face to face in a polite and courteous manner

We offer a true, honest, and personal service and you will deal directly with the business owner. Plus, attractive minimum rate of pay of £13.50 per hour (works out at £15.15 per hour inclusive of up front holiday pay) PLUS, regular overtime (£17.55 per hour which is £19.65 per hour when up front holiday pay is added) paid weekly via PAYE.
