Salary up to £31,000 based on experience
We’re working exclusively with a specialist large format print & display business who, due to continued growth, are now looking to add a highly experienced Print Supervisor to their production department.
This person will be the key point of responsibility and have overall control over print production – ensuring all jobs undertaken are completed correctly, to set deadlines, and of excellent quality standards.
The Role
- Oversee and manage the entire production process - including setup, operation, and maintenance of a variety of print (and some finishing) equipment.
- Working closely with other staff members in production – scheduling shifts/overtime, processing holidays, and other associated tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the production process.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of quality.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication of project requirements and deadlines, including attending meetings with senior management to advise of production status, challenges and solutions.
- Manage inventory of raw materials, ensuring adequate stock levels for continuous production.
- Schedule and perform regular maintenance of printing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of materials and maintenance services.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
The Person
- A highly experienced large format printer operator, currently working at supervisory level, ideally with a competent user of the following: Roland Hybrid UV Roll to Roll/Flatbed, AGFA Anapurna, HP DesignJet OR similar + associated RIP software.
- Knowledge in other areas of production including usage of Vinyl Plotters, Zund cutting tables, Laminators and Sewing Machinery (highly advantageous)
- A formal qualification in printing or reprographics i.e. City & Guilds (desirable but not essential)
- A minimum of of 3-5 years of experience in large format printing, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory level role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.
- Computer literacy, with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic people’s person who is happy to lead by example.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management processes (highly advantageous)
Shifts, Salary & Benefits
The business operates a shift pattern, expect to work a mixture of shifts between 6am and 10pm Monday to Friday. Some weekend/overtime is expected due to the needs and demands on the business.
Based on experience, the salary for this role is up to a maximum of £31,000 plus benefits including 20 days holiday – plus bank holidays, company pension contribution, free onsite parking
