Progress Teachers are working closely with a local Secondary School to appoint a knowledgeable and adaptable teacher of History to deliver impactful lessons across the Humanities Department, with a particular focus on History.

Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver a range of engaging lessons across KS3 & KS4 that will help students develop a love for humanities subjects and develop key skills in these.

* regularly assess pupil progress through formative and summative assessment, establishing effective plans to address gaps in knowledge and common misconceptions in a timely and effective manner.

* Build positive relationships with pupils and manage classroom behaviour effectively through the consistent use of the School's behaviour policy.

* Engage and actively participate in wider professional responsibilities such as lunchtime duty, parents evenings etc.

Qualification Requirements:

* A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on History. Experienced unqualified teachers will be considered for the role.

* A degree in History or a related field, with a strong understanding of key concepts and a passion for the subject.

* Proven experience as a Secondary History teacher with a successful track record of student achievement is advantageous, however strong ECTs will also be considered for this role.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.

* A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.

* A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.
