ARM has partnered with a large defence client who are looking for a Lead Estimator to join their team in Glasgow on a permanent basis.
As Lead Estimator you will be required to provide independent Commercial & Cost Estimating oversight, ensuring all costs and opportunities are collated, modelled and normalised as appropriate.
The Role:

* Working closely with supply chain to understand key cost drivers and develop cost modelling.
* Seek solutions that drive additional value.
* Work closely with all departments including engineering and manufacturing to ensure cost management and cost control are implemented.
* Ensure all costs and opportunities are collated, modelled and normalised.
* Driving end to end cost control along with embedding cost management framework.
* Able to influence across the supply chain in order to develop opportunities

Requirements:
* Good understanding of the use of analytical estimating techniques to challenge and review supply chain cost estimates.
* Understand ways of working in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Ability to create and understand and interpret complex cost models.
* Knowledge of procurement approaches and strategies.
* Familiar with and able to analyse differing types of supplier pricing returns and contracts.
* Commercially focussed background, for example Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost desirable but no essential.
