We are currently in search of candidates for an ongoing Container Repairer position with one of our clients located in SS17 9DY. In this role, your duties will involve repairing and cleaning refrigerated and empty containers, performing minor hands-on repairs, welding, and replacing substantial wooden flooring in containers. The position requires active and physically demanding tasks, emphasizing a primary focus on maintaining health and safety standards.
 
The ideal candidate should possess flexibility, as the schedule may include night shifts. This role entails working from Monday to Friday, with the potential for weekend shifts. Please note that the working hours outlined below may be subject to adjustment before your start date:
 
- Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 6 am – 16:00 (One-hour break without pay)

The salary is offered on a PAYE basis, starting at £13.5/h, with a rate of £15.5/h for night shifts.
 
Requirements:

Self-motivated, flexible approach to work, disciplined, organised and have a can-do attitude
The site is inaccessible by public transportation, so you must have a valid driving license (category B) and own transportation.
The ability to use initiative and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills.Main Duties:

Steam clean refrigerated and empty containers
Replacing heavy wooden container flooring
Welding
Manual work
Assist with ensuring that all of the site operations are carried out in accordance with the requirements of all statutory legislation, dock regulations, and Company operational and Health & Safety policies.
Promote a positive safety culture throughout the team and promptly report & help to investigate any accidents or incidents.
Support the Operations Manager/Supervisor in ensuring all duties are undertaken and completed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
Ensure all site environmental policies are complied with
Any other duties as required from time to time by the company
