A leading civil engineering and construction firm are looking to add a Health and Safety Manager to join their team for a civil and structures HS2 package of works in Amersham.

Your role will involve developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans and procedures specific to the HS2 project.

* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

* Identify potential hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies.

* Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

* Provide health and safety training and guidance to project staff and subcontractors.

* Maintain accurate records of safety performance and report on safety metrics.

* Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager on large-scale infrastructure projects.

* Previous experience working on HS2 projects is highly desirable.

* Significant experience in heavy civils / construction

* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.

* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture.

* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

* Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH) is an advantage.
