Job Summary:
As a Duct Fitters Pair, you and your partner will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of ductwork systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will work closely together to ensure that duct systems are installed according to specifications, standards, and codes, delivering efficient and effective HVAC solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, assemble, and secure metal and non-metal ductwork, including flexible duct, duct fittings, and accessories.
* Measure, cut, and shape ductwork materials using hand and power tools.
* Ensure all installations are completed according to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards.
* Perform maintenance and repair tasks on existing ductwork systems to ensure optimal performance.
* Inspect ductwork systems for leaks, defects, or inefficiencies and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
* Collaborate with other HVAC professionals, including electricians and plumbers, to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
* Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a duct fitter or similar role, preferably as part of a duct fitters pair.
* In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork installation, and repair techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Proficiency in using hand and power tools required for ductwork installation.
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to HVAC installation and maintenance.
* Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Education and Certification:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training in HVAC or ductwork installation is preferred.
* Relevant certifications, such as HVAC or sheet metal certifications, are a plus.
