New role Quantity Surveyor - Highways/Structures

This Quantity Surveyor role will be working on a highways contract near Goole.  We are looking for someone to work alongside an SQS on this highways contract and play a vital role in managing the commercial side of the contract. The role will be site based and as such is outside IR35 so limited company is fine for the successful candidate. This Quantity Surveyor role will include:

Management of all commercial aspects of the contract

Ensure compliance with the contract terms, conditions, rights and obligations of the contract.

Coordinate any changes or amendments that may occur over the course contract, following the change process in accordance with this NEC 3/4 Option A & C contract.

Analyse the impact of the change and any liability exposure that the change might cause.

Ensure obligations specified in the contract are met through monitoring and tracking.

Undertake site visits to administer the contract in line with the progress of the works.

Monitor and report on the performance of the contract in terms of programme, cost and key events or issues.

Obtain and execute any forms, reports or clearances required and resolve any outstanding issues.

Perform all duties in a collaborative manner with both client and subcontractors.

Work with the project team to evaluate the impact of changes to the budget

Capture and report cost variances

Collate Defined Cost Records for audit by the client

Production of:

monthly Cost Value Reconciliation

Earned Value Analysis report

Data validation of Subcontract Applications / Payments

Review and validation of weekly cost monitors comparing the forecast cost with actual cost taken from the weekly labour & plant returns.

Monthly valuations

Commercial elements to feed the commercial report

The ideal Quantity Surveyor candidate will have:

A degree in a construction related field 

A civil engineering background, ideally with some Highways and civils and structures experience

Strong commercial experience

A good team working attitude

The Quantity Surveyor role will be based on site in Goole.
