We're partnered with a prestigious global university to recruit for Data Platforms Lead. This role is pivotal in improving how the university uses data to make informed decisions. The vision is to transform knowledge creation, sharing, and problem-solving across the university. You will lead the Data Platforms team, working with architects, product teams, partners, and stakeholders to establish and enhance platform capabilities.

Salary: £70,000 to £90,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Duration: Permanent
Location: Central London (minimum on-site requirement once per week)

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the Data Platforms team
Work in a matrixed, agile environment with various teams and stakeholders
Oversee the existing services and support
Implement new data solutions across the platform
Drive senior collaborations and platform practices
Support the organisation's significant data journey
Champion the Data Platforms team across the university and lead stakeholder engagement
Keep the organisation informed of latest trends and developments in dataAbout You

Experience in leading and developing high-performing data teams
Deep industry knowledge and experience with on-premise and cloud data platforms in large, complex organisations
In-depth understanding of the current data landscape and modern cloud technologies
Familiarity with data lakehouses, analytics, data engineering, governance, quality, and management principles
Desirable: Experience with AI and modern data architecture frameworks (e.g., Data Fabric/Mesh)
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuade and influence stakeholders
Ability to facilitate team collaboration, manage conflicting priorities, and quickly grasp new concepts
