Site Supervisor

Location: St Neots
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Benefits: Car allowance (£4,680), mileage claim, 26 days annual leave, pension (4.5% employee, 7% employer), 4x death in service, 2% bonus (post-probation, non-contractual)

The Role:

A leading company in the Energy is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Site Supervisor to oversee and manage construction site activities for high-voltage electrical projects. The successful candidate will either take control of specific elements of a large substation scheme or manage all site-based construction aspects of a smaller high-voltage project. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that construction is delivered on time, within budget, and meets all customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Management: Liaise with all stakeholders to manage construction activities, ensuring programs progress smoothly and safety processes are upheld.
Safety and Compliance: Hold Competent Person status (CP) to administer Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) and ensure compliance with safety procedures on site.
Client Coordination: Work closely with Client Operations Teams throughout the construction phase to ensure alignment and efficiency.
Document Management: Manage the receipt, issuance, and accuracy of construction drawings, ensuring they meet design requirements.
Team Leadership: Oversee, coordinate, and manage both sub-contractor activities and internal direct reports within the Construction team, ensuring safe and efficient delivery on site.
Planning: Proactively plan for all necessary documentation, resources, tools, materials, and health & safety equipment, providing 1-week and 3-week lookahead plans.
Quality Control: Manage site acceptance testing and ensure all ‘As-Built’ documentation is delivered throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
Audits and Inspections: Conduct site audits and inspections to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Performance Indicators:

Safety: Ensure zero operational incidents and maintain a zero-harm environment.
Timely Delivery: Ensure projects are delivered on time according to the agreed program and budget.
Quality Assurance: Maintain and improve quality performance, adhering to a right-first-time ethos.

Qualifications:

City and Guilds in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
SMSTS certification.
Previous DNO authorization to take and receive permits.

Experience:

Extensive experience working in a Live Open Busbar compound.
Proven track record of indirectly leading and influencing teams across functions.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience within a CDM environment.
Strong background in working to tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
Leadership and managerial skills with a commercial mindset.
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to unexpected changes.
Strong teamwork and technical expertise.
Proficient in IT and analytical skills
