Experienced Bookkeeper
An established practice based in North West London is looking for an experienced Practice Bookkeeper to support the partners and Senior Accountants, providing bookkeeping services for a range of clients in various sectors.
The role requires you to maintain accounting records for a portfolio of clients in a range of sectors, prepare VAT and management reports, calculate and input year-end journals and other ad hoc duties. You will need to have a high level of understanding of bookkeeping, including multi-currency, group accounting and VAT and be able to manage multiple assignments to strict deadlines. You will also need to have knowledge of specific sector accounting or have the capability to gain the necessary skills required.
They provide their services to a wide range of clients, both in terms of size and sector. They pride themselves on providing fast, efficient, and friendly service.
Key Responsibilities of Experienced Bookkeeper:
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records for a portfolio of SME clients
* Utilising Xero, QuickBooks and other software
* Liaising directly with clients by email, telephone and in person
* Preparing quarterly VAT returns, Year-end Trial Balances, Management Reports and other reports
* Performing other duties as required.
* Providing value suggestions to improve efficiency using automation and 3rd party tools
Experience, attributes & skills sought:
* A minimum of 3 years experience and bookkeeping qualifications (AAT level 3 or equivalent)
* Experience managing a portfolio of clients at an accountancy practice
* Experience with group, multi-currency, cross-border VAT, property development accounting
* Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in delivering excellent service to clients
* Able to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Calm and efficient under pressure, with the ability to respond to client enquiries promptly, accurately and efficiently
* Confident, professional and team-orientated in approach
* IT literate. Knowledge of SAGE 50, QuickBooks, Xero and Digita Accounting software would be an advantage. Good working knowledge of Excel.
