Logistics Supervisor

BMSL require a Logistics Supervisor at a site in Canary Wharf

Applicants must have a Gold CSCS Card and/or SSSTS

As a Logistics Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of logistics operations to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods and materials. You will be responsible for managing inventory, supervising logistics staff, and optimizing transportation routes to meet customer demands and organizational goals. Your role is essential in maintaining the smooth flow of operations and maximizing productivity within the logistics department.

Responsibilities:

1.

Inventory Management:

* Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure adequate stock levels.

* Implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies, loss, or damage to inventory.

* Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.

Warehouse Supervision:

* Supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.

* Assign tasks and responsibilities to warehouse personnel to ensure efficient operation of warehouse activities.

* Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse.

Order Processing and Fulfillment:

* Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment.

* Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to prioritize orders and meet customer delivery requirements.

* Implement systems and processes to streamline order processing and reduce turnaround times.

Transportation and Distribution:

* Coordinate transportation logistics, including route planning, scheduling, and tracking of shipments.

* Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to negotiate rates and ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.

* Monitor the performance of transportation providers and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Performance Analysis and Optimization:

* Analyze logistics data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.

* Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics processes, reduce lead times, and improve efficiency.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement in logistics operations.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience in logistics operations, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.

* Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation logistics.

* Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve goals.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Pay rate is £16ph, 9.5hrs paid per day via CIS.

Payment is weekly, a week in hand, paid every Friday.
