Shawthorpe have an exciting opportunity within an expanding comapmny for a Shift Engineer to join their team, this is a permanent role.

Job Purpose

To ensure smooth running of the site by certifying all necessary equipment is regulary maintained to carry out the efficient work.

Duties

The shift engineer will posses experience of dealing with electro-mechanical faults and preventative maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the team of Shift Engineers will be eager though safety conscious, with a track record of owning problems and taking them through to successful completion. Every team member will be required to respond to out of hours in an emergency situation. This emergency cover will be scheduled within the team and is not a permanent requirement.

Mechanical strip down/ re assembly, basic wiring, machine calibration and system testing

Working to a time frame and complete reactive repairs

Liaise with site management addressing concerns in a proffessional manner

Mechanical aptitude and be able to read from drawings

Ability to interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with the 415v motor controls electrical only

To operate hand tools and be able to assmble parts onto equipment

Carry out risk assessmnets and appreciate Health and Safety considerations.

Skills / Ability

Undrstanding PLCS and their function is beneficial not essential

Pnuematic and hydraulic knowledge beneficial

Computer literate

Reliable

Excellent communication skills

Mechanical and Electrical knowledge will offer training if no electrical however MUST have Mechanical knowledge

Team Player

Organised and be a team player

This is a manual role and working from heights

Self motivated

Flexible

Hours:

Days only 6.30am - 6.30pm

Working 3 on 2 off 2 on / 3 off 2 on 2 off rotating
