An exciting opportunity awaits for someone seeking their next career venture as a Principal Planning Officer, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing a range of planning activities. You will be providing expert guidance and ensuring that all planning applications and development projects comply with relevant legislation, policies, and standards. This role in particular oversees large scale projects in the new build sector.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee the assessment and processing of complex large scale planning applications, including major development proposals.

* Provide expert advice on planning policy, development control, and enforcement matters.

* Engage with stakeholders, including residents, developers, and government agencies, to facilitate sustainable and high-quality development.

* Prepare and present reports to the planning committee and other relevant bodies.

* Monitor and evaluate planning processes and outcomes, implementing improvements where necessary.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant planning legislation and regulations.

* Be the key representation with public inquiries, hearings, and other forums as required.

About You:

* A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.

* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., MRTPI).

* Extensive experience in planning, with a strong understanding of planning legislation and policy.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

* Commitment to delivering high-quality planning services and outcomes.
