Our client based in Milton Keynes is looking for a Maintenance Plumber to join team on a permanent full time basis. The Maintenance Plumber will be responsible for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of mechanical building services and plumbing systems.

Key responsibilities:

* Perform planned preventative maintenance on mechanical services, including heating, cooling, and air handling systems, as well as hot and cold water systems; record and report all defects

* Conduct reactive maintenance and repairs on various building services plants; record and report defects.

* Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota for maintenance emergencies.

* Develop personal knowledge of installed mechanical building services, with regular plant room visits.

* Provide guidance on site installations to other trade staff and contractors; undertake minor mechanical and plumbing installations.

* Prepare for engineering statutory inspections; ensure safe working practices, compliance with risk assessments, and safety standards.

Key skills and experience:

* Craft apprenticeship with City & Guilds or BTEC National Certificate/Diploma, or an advanced modern apprenticeship (NVQ L2 with key skills) in mechanical or plumbing or equivalent qualification.

* Proven post apprenticeship experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical building services including low pressure heating systems, mechanical ventilation systems, hot and cold water systems and associated distribution equipment.

* Working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing installations in buildings

* Able to carry out duties in a safe way with working knowledge of health and safety issues and understanding of risk assessments.

* Ability to cope with a steady volume of work using initiative in an organized manner.

* Full and current UK driving license.
