Psychology Graduate Role - Reading

Are you a recent Graduate seeking a career in Psychology or Counselling? Are you interested in gaining experience with mental health and additional needs?

We are looking for a Psychology Graduate to work as a Learning Support Assistant at a small specialist school in Reading. All the students in the school have special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and communication needs, physical disabilities and social and emotional needs. The school have a real focus on ensuring all the pupils have the right support system in place, and feel safe and happy in the school, so if you are bubbly, friendly and proactive please apply

As a Learning Support Assistant, your day to day will involve working with a range of students, on a one-to-one basis, as well as in wider groups. You will help prepare learning materials to the students, check on their welfare, and help increase their independent living skills. The school have a big focus on life skills, as well as making sure the school day is fun and engaging, so expect a lot of cooking, outdoor activities and therapy-based approaches

By working in a specialist setting, this role will give you the essential experience needed to train as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Youth Worker or Speech and Language Therapist in the near future. Not only will you gain a first-hand insight into development and neurodiversity, you will also learn to identify the risks and needs of each child, and ensure they meet the milestones set for them. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate or someone with previous experience working with children.

This role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 3:30pm each day. The school are ideally looking for a Psychology Graduate who can start ASAP or in September so please apply now
