Our client is a leading provider of cell banking services for stem cells to then be used later in life for personalised medicine. They receive human tissues (placenta and umbilical cord) and separate out high quality stem cells. An opportunity has now become available for an experience Laboratory Manager to join the company on a permanent basis.

The role:

As the Laboratory Manager the main priorities of the roles is the daily management of laboratory analysis, efficient sample processing and compliant storage.

Core responsibilities will include:

* Management of laboratory workloads and work allocation to laboratory technicians.

* Maintenance of laboratory equipment, including operating procedures, troubleshooting and repair support.

* Oversee laboratory supplies and maintaining suitable levels of equipment and consumables.

* Ensuring laboratory compliance through effective quality standards and internal tracking systems.

* Act as technical lead for the laboratory and maintain professional knowledge.

* Laboratory team management, training, and guidance to ensure workload delivery.

The requirements:

Suitable applicants will be expected to have prior experience in Laboratory Management and the ability to manage a laboratory team to deliver results.

Experience should include:

* Prior experience working within a Biological or Biomedical laboratory, with experience working with biological material.

* Effective management experience with knowledge of internal laboratory management systems.

* Experience with HTA (Human Tissues Act) would be beneficial.

* Ability to lead and mentor a team.

* Experience implementing good quality practices and operating procedures in a regulated environment.

* Educated to minimum of degree level in a Biological discipline (or equivalent experience).

* Strong communications skills, with good written and spoken English.
