We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join our thriving and supportive primary school in Potters Bar.
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, fostering a love of learning, and preparing pupils for their SATs and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Year 6 students, ensuring they make excellent progress in all areas.
Assessment: Regularly assess pupil's work, providing constructive feedback, and tracking their progress in line with school policies.
SATs Preparation: Prepare pupils for their end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments, providing targeted support to help them achieve their best.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, promoting good behavior and a love of learning.
Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral support to pupils, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and independence as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support the learning and development of all students.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 6.
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment procedures at Key Stage 2.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
Experience in preparing students for SATs.
A track record of helping students achieve strong academic outcomes.
Experience in using a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
