DevEx Engineer - Linux/WSL EUC W365 Dev Container

Contract 6 months £500 a day - Inside IR35

EUC W365 SUPPORT

Minimum 5 years sys admin level experience
Preferably in a regulated environment
In depth experience and knowledge of modern management technologies and zero trust principles
In depth knowledge of all areas of Intune
Knowledge of access control toolsets such as Entra ID / Conditional Access / PIM
Basic security principles around device / OS hardening
Intermediate scripting knowledge
Basic understanding in all areas of OSI model

Key tasks

Assisting with issue triage, ensuring customers are responded to and kept informed of progress.
Ability to work independently, analysing each issue as it is presented in order to effectively route to the correct teams for resolution.
Raising standard issues (e.g. software requests, firewall unblocks) with correct teams and chasing for resolution.
Dev Container issue analysis and remediation, including assisting with creating new Dev Containers for use within WSL.
Coordinating with packaging teams to ensure new software is fully tested by test end users, rollout to either standard, developer bundle or into software catalogue.
Coordinating testing firewall unblocks and presentation of fixes for consideration by Cyber, EUC and DX Desktop teams.
Willingness to drive issue to resolution and assist with unblocking developers who have issues, constructing solutions that put the end user first and consider the developer experience.

Technical Skills

General desktop troubleshooting (i.e. systems administration tasks) for Windows, macOS and Ubuntu operating systems.
Experience and knowledge of End User Computing architecture (including virtual and physical devices, modern management technologies and zero trust principles).
Privilege management software application.
Understanding of software installation via standard channels (Intune) and developer specific (Chcolatey client and repo management using Jfrog Artifactory).
Experience with Linux/WSL.
General awareness of developer workflows and tooling, including best practice and general industry trends.GCS is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
