Salary:
£12 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the yard, ensuring efficient and organized management of incoming and outgoing goods.
* Coordinate the movement and placement of vehicles, trailers, and containers within the yard to maximize space and operational efficiency.
* Direct and manage the arrival and departure of vehicles, ensuring they are docked and unloaded or loaded promptly and accurately.
* Monitor the condition and availability of yard equipment and ensure it is maintained in good working order.
* Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and the location of goods within the yard.
* Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile any discrepancies in inventory records.
* Ensure that all yard operations adhere to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
* Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate records of yard activities, including vehicle movements, inventory changes, and any incidents or issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a yard management or similar role within a logistics or warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
* Strong organisational and time management skills to efficiently coordinate yard operations and manage multiple tasks.
* Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory management and adherence to safety standards.
* Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, drivers, and other stakeholders
