We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter/Engineer to work for a drinks manufacturing company in Wythenshawe.

**The position operates a day shift pattern with business hours being 7:30am to 5:00pm.**

The successful candidate will join a small team and will be responsible for both planned and reactive equipment maintenance, whilst also getting involved in any machine improvements and project work.

Key duties:

• Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance work in an industrial environment working on equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, mechanical seals, pipework, mixing tanks bagging lines, conveyors, palletising machines, fans, motors and bearings, etc.

• Ability to diagnose and rectify breakdowns.

• Stripping down / reassemble of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, motors, fans and bearings

• Mechanical plant/machine installation and modifications.

• Fabrication and welding using the onsite workshop of stainless pipework.

• The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals & other technical information.

Ideal Qualities for the role:

• Previous experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role.

• The ideal candidate will have a formal qualification in an engineering discipline.

• Experience within the FMCG industry would be advantageous.

• Engineering Project Experience

• Good mechanical knowledge of conveyors, palletisers, compressors, blow moulding, injection moulding, thermocouples, blowers, granulators, hoppers, hydraulics and pneumatics.

• Previous welding experience would be highly desirable.
