Position: Overhead Crane Operator
Location: Northallerton
Hourly Rate: £14+ per hour
Shifts: Backshift – 14.15 pm-12.15 am Monday-Thursday

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate overhead crane equipment efficiently and safely according to company procedures and safety guidelines.

* Transport materials and goods from storage areas to production lines or designated locations using overhead cranes.

* Perform regular inspections of the crane equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues or malfunctions promptly.

* Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including load weights, times, and destinations.

* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate crane operations and prioritize tasks effectively.

* Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize accidents and ensure a secure working environment.

* Assist in loading and unloading materials as required, following proper lifting and handling techniques.

* Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and stay updated on safety procedures and equipment operation.

Skills & Experience:

* Proven experience operating overhead crane equipment in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

* Valid crane operator certification or license, in compliance with local regulations.

* Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to crane operation.

* Ability to interpret load charts and calculate load capacities accurately.

* Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

* Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

* Flexibility to work constant backshift hours and adapt to changing production demands.

* Physical strength and stamina to perform lifting and manual handling tasks safely.

* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and safety practices.
