About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialisation in managing challenging behaviours to join a vibrant primary school in Hackney, London. This role will involve supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who have special educational needs, focusing particularly on those with behavioural challenges.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within SEN or with pupils exhibiting challenging behaviours, is highly desirable.

• A patient and resilient approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.

• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, particularly focusing on managing challenging behaviours.

• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) as directed by the SENCO and class teachers.

• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic progress and social development.

• Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to meet the individual needs of pupils.

We offer a competitive daily rate of £85-£100, dependent on experience and qualifications, along with the opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic school environment. This role also offers a long-term placement with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.
