Furniture Sprayer / Finisher
Company Overview:
We are a leading recruitment firm currently seeking a skilled Sprayer for a client in the joinery and marine sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work at our client's factory in Dorset. The successful candidate will be responsible for prepping, staining, painting, and lacquering bespoke joinery pieces, ensuring high-quality finishes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces of bespoke joinery pieces for finishing.
- Staining and Painting: Apply stains and paints to joinery items to achieve desired finishes.
- Lacquering: Apply lacquer to protect and enhance the appearance of joinery pieces.
- Quality Control: Ensure all finished products meet the highest quality standards.
Key Tasks:
- Sand and clean surfaces to prepare for staining and painting.
- Mix and apply stains, paints, and lacquers according to specifications.
- Use spraying equipment to apply finishes evenly and smoothly.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and consistency.
- Maintain and clean spraying equipment regularly.
- Follow safety protocols to handle and dispose of materials safely.
- Coordinate with the production team to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.
Health & Safety:
- Understand and implement the H&S Management System and procedures.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Promote a positive attitude towards health and safety within the workplace.
Other Duties:
- Cooperate with management on health and safety matters.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and safe working methods.
- Undertake necessary training to maintain competence.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or property damage.
- Use equipment responsibly and take care of yourself and others.
- Perform additional tasks as required within the role's remit.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have significant industry experience in the joinery and furniture making sector, particularly in spraying and finishing techniques. A strong background in prepping, staining, painting, and lacquering bespoke joinery is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, craftsmanship, and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
