Asbestos Lab Analyst

Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst.
Location: Romford, Essex.
Salary / Benefits £22k - £32k + Training + Benefits

We are working closely with a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy who are looking to recruit an Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their independent laboratory in the Essex region. You will be joining a team of established lab analysts and will be responsible for ensuring internal systems are continuously updated when samples arrive, as well as confidently and safely carrying out sample analysis in line with relevant HSG 248 guidelines. You will be able to work to agreed deadlines and providing support and advice to clients when required.

Consideration will be given to candidates from: Brentwood, Basildon, Southend-on-Sea, Hornchurch Billericay, Dagenham, Wickford, Stanford-Le-Hope, Grays, Tilbury, Rainham.

Experience & Qualifications:
" Must hold the BOHS P401 qualification.
" Will come from an established Asbestos Consultancy and will have hands on experience working within the laboratory.
" Will have a keen eye for detail.
" Able to communicate with colleagues and clients efficiently via phone, email, face to face.
" Excellent knowledge of relevant HSG 248 guidelines.
" Excellent IT skills.
The Role:
" Efficiently logging asbestos samples onto internal systems upon arrival to the laboratory.
" Safely labelling, bagging, and storing samples prior to preparing for analysis.
" Carrying out sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy.
" Completing job sheets upon completion of analysis.
" Reporting back to clients within the agreed timeframe.
" Ensuring all equipment is calibrated, and the laboratory is following safe working practices.
" Maintaining the companies UKAS accreditation.
" Working in line with HSG 248 guidelines.
