Night Porter

Night Porter required for our client, a hotel, located in the East Grinsted area. Transport will be required.

As Night Porter you will be on duty from 10pm until 7.00am, 40 hours, 5 nights per week on a rota, to include a week-end. As Night Porter, you will have responsibility for the safety and security of the hotel, colleagues and hotel guests during your shift. This is a responsible role requiring someone with excellent customer service, communication and organisation skills to deliver a service throughout the night in a friendly and professional manner. Your role will involve ensuring the effective running of the hotel during the night time hours achieving consistently high standards of service and security and maximum guest satisfaction.

For this opportunity of NIGHT PORTER, ideally you will have previous night’s experience or similar hotel reception experience, however training can be provided. You will provide services such as property security walks, guest check in and check out, porterage if required, ensuring public areas are clean, some food and beverage service out of normal service hours.

The Role of Night Porter:

Covering a full range of guest services including reception, food and beverage service and banqueting setup duties. You will be part of a small team responsible for guest care and security between the hours of 22.00 and 07.00

* 40 hours, 5 days per week including weekend shifts on a rota basis.

* Guest care and service including; guest check in and check out, answering/handling hotel switchboard, enquiry handling, preparing and serving light snacks/meals, banqueting setups, bar service out of hours, general porter/concierge duties

* Security including; completing security clock rounds, fire checks, locking up the hotel and spa, managing the front door access during the night, complying with fire prevention and fire procedures

Requirements fore the role of Night Porter:

* Smart appearance

* Friendly manner

* Customer service experience

* Mature approach to customer service and safety/security issues

* Must have 2 excellent references available to be checked.

* Experience of night shift working preferred

The salary for the role of Night Porter is given as £25,295.20 / per annum (£23,795.20 / plus a share of the service charge £1,500 / per annum) / Other company benefits available. Transport is required due to location.
