Freight Forwarder

An exciting opportunity as become available in our charter team. We are looking for a Freight Forwarder to join our dedicated team at our Colchester office, it is an ideal place for a candidate who is ambitious, hardworking and loves working in a fast paced environment.

Tasks and responsibilities:-

* Sales calls / Client follow up

* Increase UK client portfolio

* Quotations

* Negotiating rates with suppliers and subconractors

* Complete order entry process through to completion

* Planning, organising and coordinating activities via network / subcontractors

* Updating customers on delays and issues

* Using in-house transport management system to monitor and update the progress of each order

The role involves interaction with partners and colleagues from Ewals’ offices throughout Europe. You will need to be able to multitask and be accurate in verifying and informing information

Hours of work consists of:

Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00

We are looking for an organised person with the following skills:

The ideal candidate:-

* Experience working in a sales and customer service environment

* Ability to communicate effectively with internal & external parties

* Strong IT skills

* Good negotiation skills

One of the following are desirable:-

* Logistics background

* Previous knowledge of container transports

* Sales & Customs knowledge
