Events Manager
£30k basic / £40k OTE
Chelmsford CM1 (Travelling to events nationwide)
Permanent/Full Time
Working Hours: 5 day week Monday to Saturday (rota’d Saturdays and days off depending on events schedule). Hours are typically 9-5.30 although extended hours are expected at events.
Our clients, a fast-paced and high growth company, is the UK’s leading training organisation helping thousands of Business Owners, Entrepreneurs and Celebrities build, grow and scale the business.
They are looking for a dynamic individual with strong experience from the events space, to lead their Events operation and event sales team at venues up and down the country.
You will be based from the Chelmsford HQ & training centre, but expected to attend and stay away at events regularly throughout the month.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Be available, flexible and reliable, to attend all events, travelling around the UK for some or most of the month - you should be excited and thrive on this fantastic opportunity
* Your organisation skills must be exemplary as you are required to plan, book and coordinate roadshows at multiple venues around the UK, including staffing and preparing event day agendas
* Lead and mentor the events team on the day to run the agenda - attention to detail is crucial - know that all the small details matter to make a big overall sum
* Run the events sales team and process sale transactions - all events are sales focussed and you will be required to have a sales focussed mentality
* Work with key stakeholders and managers to gather expectations to ensure you deliver on what is required
* Ensure events run to a standard of excellence, delivering a high-quality service to clients, perfectly smooth running for all staff and contractors, and always seek ongoing continuous improvements, working with all stakeholders for feedback and input, such as in regular de-brief meetings or surveys.
* Responsibility to resolve any issues at events and in follow-ups - handle client/ suppliers/contractor complaints expertly and swiftly.
* Assist other Events Managers where required, to attend other evens, or with planning; booking and co-ordination of all events with venues, staff, contractors and suppliers, ensuring excellent communication at all times.
* Representing the company professionally at all times - be a promoter of a positive company culture and its values.
* Work with other stakeholders and managers to improve the performance of your ownership area.
* Work to KPI’s and provide reporting for your ownership area.
Your Background & Skill:
* Experience in organising events.
* Experience in travel - knowing you will thrive on the required travel.
* Be efficient, organised, self-motived and fast-paced.
* Experience in managing a team of people.
* Be able to take initiative and responsibility.
* Be a team motivator with strong communication skills.
