A family-owned animal feed manufacturer, looking to recruit an Engineer to work within our current team, the role will be based at our mill in Saxlingham Thorpe, Norwich, Norfolk. This is a full-time permanent role, as part of a well-established Engineering team, who support a 24/6 manufacturing process.

We require a high level of competency in electrical and mechanical engineering, experienced in electrical fault finding and repair, qualified and competent in electrical systems. Formal qualifications are essential. Applications from food, agricultural or other comparable industries would be well suited to this role and environment.

After successful site-specific training, you will work a rotating pattern of early’s, lates with call outs or a night shift, the pattern includes weekend early shifts. (Pattern will be clarified at interview)

Typical duties:

* As part of the on-site team, you will carry out daily operational checks and support production with equipment changes and setup.

* In the event of breakdowns, lead fault identification and correction. Following up on any improvements and feedback on preventative measures.

* Identify and carry out preventative maintenance works utilising the sites electronic maintenance system, (MPulse) and feedback on works undertaken.

Requirements:

* Time served or apprenticeship trained & qualified engineer.

* Can demonstrate good engineering knowledge and safe working practices.

* Willing to work collaboratively with production teams to reduce impact of engineering and suggesting preventative maintenance activities that could improve reliability.

* Ability to support the management of contractors to the expected standards.

* Promote a positive and proactive workplace.

* Participate in on-site and off-site training required to fulfil the role.

* Overtime and out of hours support may be required.

Desirable:

Welding and fabrication skills. (MIG, TIG, MMA)

Previous experience as a member of a maintenance team using electronic maintenance system is desirable but not essential.
