C&I Technician

Astute's Power team is partnering with a Combined Heat and Power facility in Cumbria. Comprised of three GE Frame 6B Gas Turbines and a single 68MW Steam Turbine, the plant provides power to the National Grid as well as steam to the nuclear facilities of Sellafield to recruit an C&I Technician on a 12 month FTC for its Fellside site.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Site Maintenance Engineer you will:

Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all C&I assets to maximise plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment (motors, switchgear, generators etc)
Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency
Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades
Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
Provide out of hours cover on a 1 week in 3 on call rota

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

A recognised C&I engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent
Knowledge and understanding of maintenance on controls and instrumentation equipment
At least 4 years of experience working in the maintenance team in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant etc.

The C&I Technician role would suit someone who is:
