Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP)

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting an award-winning design engineering and off-site construction company based in the Northeast of England in the appointment of a Senior Design Engineer. This company specialises in designing, engineering, and delivering complex regulated environment solutions, cleanroom construction and M&E services for a wide range of industries and solve facility design challenges to improve health and safety, reduce costs as well as release zero carbon emissions in the process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and engineering processes and will be responsible for producing manufacturing drawings for client projects and contribute towards design improvement.

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar discipline).

* Experience working on mechanical and/or electrical design engineering, delivering complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets.

* Experience drafting and reviewing Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) drawings, checking all technical requirements for project application according to design specifications and code regulations for mechanical systems.

* Working knowledge and hand-on experience of 3D modelling and designing of engineering processes (DEP) using software packages such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Autodesk AutoCAD & Revit, ANSYS SOLIDWORKS and IES.

* Experience creating designs and calculations for processes in the construction of cleanrooms and associated controlled environments (e.g., HVAC systems, cool water pipe systems etc.).

* Management experience (highly advantageous).

* A confident individual who has intellectual curiosity and the drive to share new ideas within the team.

Working Hours: Monday -Thursday 8-4:30pm, Fridays 8am-3:30pm

Salary – Competitive salary and benefits, depending on experience.
