My client is a growing business operating from its head office near Tonypandy. The Commercial Fleet is made up of rigid 32t, 18t, and 7.5t lorries, most of which have are Jet-Vac and Vax-Ex vehicles. This is supported with number of 3.5t LCV carrying CCTV camera equipment for onsite works.

The company has a vacancy for a qualified, experienced, Fleet/Depot Manager working in a team of 3 looking after a fleet of approximately 30 commercial vehicles.

The candidate will also be responsible for their Yard Operations and manage the onsite mechanic and yard foreman. This role will require a high level of collaboration with their Health and Safety, HR and Operations teams in maintaining professional development and safe working practices.

The role demands the successful candidate to be at the forefront of legislation, procedures, standard practices and technological advancement to succeed.

The candidate will need to demonstrate these skills in dealing with drivers and work colleagues. The candidate will be involved in the specification of vehicles, plant, machinery, fuel and disposables as well as the acquisition and disposal of same.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will hold a valid National Haulage CPC and have a comprehensive knowledge of Transport Management, and Operators Licence compliance. The candidate needs excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to team working.
