HSEQ Administrator

This is an excellent opportunity to join the HSEQ team of an SME Construction Business based in South-East London. You will be responsible for providing support to the HSEQ Team with all administration.

Joining an existing team and reporting to the HSEQ Manager is a varied role with responsibility for a wide range of New Build and Refurbishment Construction projects, so we are ideally looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role.

Key responsibilities:

* Assist the HSEQ Manager and Quality and Compliance Manager in raising the operational standards and in contributing to the development and effective operation of HSEQ management in general throughout Elkins Construction.

* Develop a strong working relationship with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement focused on health, safety and wellbeing across Elkins Construction.

* Support the development and implementation of a robust risk management framework which monitors and reports on compliance with all required standards and regulations, ensuring evidence of this compliance is readily available.

* Support of the quality compliance and performance monitoring activity both internally and externally, ensuring quality management systems remain suitable and effective.

* Support the business with its external accreditation process (including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and industry licences) to ensure it is able to operate in its chosen sector. Ensure compliance with ISO requirements.

* Maintain & update the company training matrix.

* Perform data entry, documentation, printing and filing duties.

* Ensure that the computerised HSEQ information systems and registers are accurate and updated regularly.

* Assist in the preparation and co-ordination of HSEQ training sessions.

* Update subcontractor/supplier databases and correspond when necessary and when information is due in a timely manner and in line with date sensitive information.

* Retain information on the company fleet administration and reports, supporting the fleet manager.

* Assist in the development of HSEQ Quarterly themes and campaigns.

* Co-ordinate department meetings – organise, facilitate and take minutes.

* Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Skills & experiences:

* Proven experience in an HSEQ Administrative Role in the construction sector - essential.

* Proven experience in working with databases and modular software packages – beneficial.

* Proven experience in data management and analysis - essential.

* Good organisational skills.

* Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels - essential.

* Proven ability to work in a multi-task environment - essential.

* Proficient user of all Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams – Essential.

* A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade C or above, including English and Maths.

* Excellent written and spoken English.

* Ability to understand the importance of processing information in a prompt, efficient manner and in accordance with legislation, policy and procedure.

* Ability to deal positively with change and willingness to embrace new opportunities and working practices within health & safety.

* Experience working in an ISO-accredited company.

* Analytical thinking and ability.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Excellent attention to detail that is reflected through accurate work.

* Ability to follow a process-driven approach to systems and working methods
