SENIOR ESTIMATOR (CIVIL ENGINEERING)
Location: Manchester
Role: An award winning, family run business with a great reputation. This client works within a variety of civil engineering and construction contracts, ranging in value from £5,000 to £15million in value. They work with an already diverse range yet growing list of clients. Ideally, you will have already worked in a similar role for a civil engineering contractor, pricing works involving civil engineering, earthworks, concrete, drainage, and remediation etc.
What you will be doing: On a day-to-day basis, you will be involved in:
Reviewing incoming enquiries
Assessing all relevant technical issues
Conducting site visits
Coordinating tender submissions including health and safety, environmental and quality elements
Submitting proposals to clients
Negotiating terms and conditions with clients prior to contract award
Participating in tender handover meetings
Preparing take-offs and materials schedules
Preparing subcontract enquiries and evaluating quotations
Preparing estimates and outlining programmes for the costs of the works
What you will need:
Relevant tender experience
Estimating experience working for a main civil engineering contractor
Good IT skills, including the Microsoft Office suite of software
Knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Project beneficial but not essential
Ability to review construction drawings and perform quantity take-offs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good time-management and organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
A professional attitude to representing the Company
Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
Capability to work on multiple tenders and budgets
