An exciting opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join a thriving and excellent secondary SEN school located in the London Borough of Islington. We are seeking an outstanding Cover Supervisor to join a team of experienced, creative and passionate teachers.

If you are passionate about secondary class teaching and wish to provide first class education, then this may be the role for you

* Position: Cover Supervisor

* Location: Islington

* Type of role: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only

* Required: ASAP

About the school:

This is an excellent school for students 11-16 years old with social, emotional and mental health needs.

They believe in traditional values and high expectations. They promote a structured learning environment with an emphasis on the importance of homework. Lessons are held in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. They follow a broad and varied curriculum.

About the role:

* To supervise whole classes (small groups) during the short-term absence of teachers.

* To give instructions for the lesson as provided by a teacher. The primary focus of the role is to maintain good order and to keep pupils on task.

* To respond to general questions and provide general feedback. There is no requirement to undertake ‘specified work’.

* Cover Supervisors are not subject to a ‘system of supervision’ other than the general supervision applicable to all staff and act under the professional direction of teachers.

* To carry out administrative tasks as detailed below.

* To undertake supervision of afterschool Homework clubs.
