Assistant Accountant with Purchasing

Elevation Accountancy and Finance are excited to be working with a fantastic business in the Rotherham area as they look to recruit an established Assistant Accountant with hands on purchasing experience into their team.
Reporting to and supporting the Finance Manager, you will be joining a small friendly team, as a pivotal role within the finance and operations team - the role will be predominantly finance focused, but will also hold responsibility for some of the buying activities They are looking for a team player (it’s all hands on deck), who is keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, with strong Excel skills who can hit the ground running
Duties will include:
Monthly Stock Controls
Monthly Stock Costings
Prepayments/Accruals
Fixed Assets
HR/Payroll
Posted Journals /Cashbook/Petty Cash Reconciliations
Assisting with development of spreadsheets to help other team members
Help in Prep of Management accounts
Help in Prep of Annual accounts
Help with Adhoc Reporting to Group
Filing of National Statistics
VAT Returns including Reconciliation
Generating purchase orders
Keeping track of stock and manage budgets effectively
Managing the order book and scheduling
Maintaining regular communication with other departments to streamline processes
Maintaining Commodity/ Import codes
Monitoring quotas
Reconciliation Deferment accounts
Reporting to Group
Admin of import documents /sending to clearing agents
Basic Admin Duties
Person Specification:
Previous experience within an all round accounts role
Strong Excel skills
Analytical skills with attention to detail
Team player
Good communication skills
Good with computer systems
