Job Title: M&E Project Manager

Reports to: Small Works Manager

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Project Manager to join our team in Cardiff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either mechanical or electrical engineering and will be responsible for managing projects up to £2 million in value. This role requires excellent project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead and inspire a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

* Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

* Coordinate and supervise project activities, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

* Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.

Team Leadership:

* Lead, mentor, and manage the project team, including subcontractors and external vendors.

* Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Client Interaction:

* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded.

* Conduct regular status meetings with clients and stakeholders.

Budget Management:

* Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure that projects stay within financial limits.

* Prepare financial reports and documentation.

Risk Management:

* Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Quality Control:

* Oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

* Ensure all work complies with industry standards and client specifications.

Documentation:

* Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, plans, and progress reports.

* Ensure all project records are accurately maintained and updated.

Qualifications:

Education:

* Mechanical or electrical engineering background (NVQ or City and Guilds Qualified or Equivalent)

* Proven experience working in projects and overseeing a team of engineers and subcontractors

Experience:

* Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the mechanical and electrical sector.

* Proven experience managing projects up to £2 million in value.

Skills:

* Strong knowledge of M&E systems and processes.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in project management software and tools.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
