About the company:
This contractor is a dynamic and growing regional SME based in the East Midlands, specialising in commercial new build and refurbishment projects. With a commitment to delivering high-quality projects and fostering a collaborative work environment, they are looking for a motivated and experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. This role offers significant room for progression for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the management of 2-3 schemes, with values ranging from £5 million to £35 million.
* Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
* Coordinate and manage all contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain strong professional relationships.
* Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for senior management.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts and projects.
* Support the development and implementation of project management methodologies and best practices.
* Support delivery teams on a range of construction projects across the Greater Midlands and South Yorkshire regions including Peterborough, Leeds, Nottingham, and Derby areas.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role - Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors
* Proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels and able to lead and work with site teams.
* A proven leader of site teams, with a track record of delivering projects on time and to budget.
* Proactive management style, a problem solver by nature.
* Ability to build relationships with sub-contractors on a peer-to-peer level.
* As a visiting Contracts Manager, you will need to have the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
* Strong and clear communicator.
* Experienced in reporting progress to business Directors in project update meetings.
* JCT contract experience.
* Commitment to health & safety and risk management.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
* Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
