Abatec is recruiting for a Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join one of the UK’s biggest Civil Engineering projects – Hinkley Point C. Our client has successfully delivered multi-million-pound packages of work and Hinkley and due to their continued presence is recruiting for a freelance Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer.

This is an opportunity to join an award-winning contractor that have secured a challenging package of work at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.

As Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer you will:

* Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience of setting-out on heavy civil engineering schemes.

* Use a robotic total station to provide levelling and surveying across the site, encompassing earthworks, surfacing, drainage, groundworks etc.

* Check drawings and quantities, ensuring the accuracy of calculations.

* Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols and to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.

Our client requires a Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer with:

* Valid CSCS and experience of robotic total stations.

* A good understating of construction health & safety protocols.

* Excellent communication skills.

* HND/HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering.

* Understanding of AutoCAD
