We are currently seeking a Warehouse Assistant to join an established manufacturing company based in Stanley.

Salary: £24,600 annually

Shifts: Day Shift

Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 17:0
Friday, 08:00 to 14:00 As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse and supporting the overall production process.

Responsibilities:

Compare identifying information and verify outgoing shipments against invoices, orders, or other records.
Determine the method of shipment, selecting from a range of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Assemble cardboard containers or select preassembled containers for packaging.
Pack finished items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
Bind containers with strapping tape using a strapping machine.
Stamp or glue identifying information and shipping instructions into containers.
Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage to shipments.
Order packaging materials as required.
Cover the day-to-day operation in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor.
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and recording shortages.
Correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
Shelf and inventory parts upon receipt of shipments, ensuring accurate parts count.
Pull parts from stock/inventory for work orders.
Route items to departments as needed.
Perform daily stock counts to maintain the accuracy of the stock/inventory.Requirements:

Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with ERP systems would be advantageous, but not a necessity as training will be provided.
Ability to compare and verify information accurately.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to follow shipping procedures and select appropriate routes and rates.
Excellent communication skills to correspond with shippers and departments.
Ability to lift and move heavy items when required.
