Position: Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Horsham, UK
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain SC Clearance having lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years

About the Role:

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS) within a design and manufacturing environment. You will lead internal and supplier audits, apply problem-solving methodologies, and ensure that QMS elements are clear, concise, and effective. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of quality and driving continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and maintain the QMS within a design and manufacturing environment.

* Conduct and manage internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

* Apply “8D” problem-solving methodologies, including the use of 5-Whys and Ishikawa/Cause and effect diagrams, within an SME and with suppliers.

* Create and develop clear and concise QMS elements, including processes, procedures, and workflows.

* Act as a confident and credible communicator, interacting effectively across all levels of the business.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Experience and Skills:

* Experienced in the management of a QMS within a design and manufacturing environment.

* Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND or relevant equivalent; an engineering-related discipline is highly desirable.

* Confident and credible communicator, able to interact plausibly in all settings within the business.

* Experienced in managing and conducting internal and supplier audits.

* Proficient in “8D” problem-solving methodology, including the use of 5-Whys and Ishikawa/Cause and effect diagrams.

* Ability to create and develop clear and concise QMS elements, including processes, procedures, and workflows.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
