We are currently seeking Mechanical Fitters to join our Delivery Team. This role involves the assembly and installation of fabricated products, including settlement tank scraper bridges, gravity thickeners, aerators, and access steelwork.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a flexible, enthusiastic, and organized individual with a strong work ethic and experience in the water industry. You should be self-motivated, a good communicator, and comfortable working in a small business environment.

Location:
This is a site-based role, primarily working in the Midlands and South of England. The position requires regional and nationwide travel, with regular overnight stays, and may include occasional visits to our Group headquarters in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform on-site mechanical installation of scraper bridges and other fabricated products for wastewater and water treatment plants. Experience with heavy fabricated steel structures is essential.

* Adhere to all relevant standards, policies, and statutory Health & Safety regulations.

* Ensure that all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned according to British, ISO, and client standards.

* Carry out repairs, upgrades, and refurbishment work on existing installed systems.

* Apply industry best practices to ensure a ‘right first time’ outcome during installation.

* Work with mild and stainless steel, including cutting, grinding, welding, and fixing.

* Handle various types of pipework, such as stainless, ductile, and mild steel.

* Collaborate effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other contractors.

* Comply with all relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work Plans, maintaining safety and responsibility at all times.

* Complete daily reports and ensure compliance with company HSQE policies for all activities.

* Identify and promote new ideas and improvements to the business through appropriate channels.

* Perform other duties as required, consistent with your skills and role.

Key Skills & Experience:

* Engineering qualification or similar, ideally at City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent level.

* At least two years of experience in a similar role within the utilities sector or M&E engineering environment.

* Experience in steelwork assembly, welding, and site mechanical works is essential.

* Demonstrable training or qualifications in welding, steel fixing, or related fields.

* Experience with structural steelwork and steel product installation is advantageous.

* Electrical awareness and training would be a plus.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

* Experience in the UK water industry is preferable, and experience installing scraper bridges is a distinct advantage.

* Willingness to travel regionally and nationwide, including overnight stays, and to visit Group headquarters in Ireland as needed.

* Full driving licence (any existing endorsements must be declared).
