Nationwide, United Kingdom Atlas Workplace Services Full time

Atlas Workplace Services is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic facilities management team.

This role is home-based, with travel to sites UK-wide to when required.

In this essential role, you will be instrumental in driving project success by compiling comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BoQs) based on precise information provided and gathered through active client engagements. You will also liaise with specialist contractors, providing necessary contract scopes and documents to ensure accurate pricing, and critically evaluate subcontractor quotations to align with client demands and competitive benchmarks.

A key part of your role will be to identify and communicate potential financial risks to senior management, proposing strategic measures to mitigate these risks. You will monitor project progression through meticulous Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) processes and assess Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently, affordably, and safely. Additionally, you will serve as a vital communication link, resolving any pricing or costing queries within the project team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Provide commercial and cost management support to the procurement, operations, and planning teams.

* Accurately measure and value the works undertaken by the operational teams and contractors. Detailed knowledge of Standard Methods of Measurement relating to fabric works and Mechanical & Electrical installations is expected.

* Prepare and monitor the submission and approval of design, specification, and cost estimates information provided by Service Providers, sub-contractors, and suppliers.

* Collaborate with the project management team to establish robust resource management plans for effectively delivering complex projects.

* Possess knowledge and understanding of the implications of health and safety regulations.

* Advise and develop a suitable procurement strategy for all schemes, utilizing Traditional General Contracting, Measured Term, or Design and Build routes. Schemes may be delivered under bespoke RBKC JCT forms of contract or Framework contracts, mainly using JCT or NEC forms.

Minimum Qualifications, Certifications and Training required

* Relevant Degree or equivalent

* RICS membership

* Full Driving Licence

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience for this role

* Detailed knowledge of current building and construction regulations, technology, and contractual matters.

* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.

* Extensive experience in effectively managing costs for large and complex programs of work within the housing repairs and planned investment sector or a comparable sector.

* Excellent attention to detail.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Forward-thinking and interested in developing smart ways of working with teams to realise client and operational objectives.

* Commercially aware.

* Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office packages and AUTOCAD

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.

* Experience in construction industry

* Experience in Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing installation projects

* Experience in Building Services Industry

* JCT and NEC Contract experience
