Pertemps Isle of Wight has an exciting opportunity for a skilled marine mechanic to undertake the installation, modification and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems, for our valued client in the marine industry. Initially on a temporary basis and then the possibility of progressing to a permanent role for the right person.

The role is Mon - Thurs but would require emergency standby on occasion.

As a Marine Mechanic you will be involved in the undertaking of the assembly, installation, modification, repair/maintenance and diagnostics of mechanical equipment/systems within the boatbuilding process, and repair of boats. As a Marine mechanic you will be responsible for helping diagnose issues with boat systems and equipment and be able to work independently and part of a team.

The role would be suitable for someone who is practical, adaptable and pays attention to detail and has a willingness to learn.

Key responsibilities for our client would include:

- Undertaking the testing and commissioning of marine mechanical equipment and systems
- Undertaking the safe movement of marine vessels and components
- Fault finding, diagnostics and repair
- Ability to work to targets/schedules
- Take part in sea trials
- Problem solving skills

Prior experience or relevant qualifications are essential.
