Position: Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) Inspector
Location: Camden
Salary: £43,000 pa
Job Type: Full-Time (12 month contract)
We are working with an organisation dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of their residents. We are looking for an FRA Inspector, who has experience with fire safety measures within a housing environment, to join the team and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of fire safety in our residential buildings.
As an FRA Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments to ensure that residential properties comply with all relevant fire safety regulations. You will play a critical role in identifying potential fire hazards, evaluating existing fire safety measures, and recommending improvements to safeguard residents and property.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting Fire Risk Assessments: Evaluate fire risks within residential buildings, identifying potential fire hazards and assessing the adequacy of current fire safety measures.
Evaluating Fire Safety Systems: Inspect fire detection and alarm systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, escape routes, and fire doors to ensure they are functional and meet safety standards.
Compliance with Regulations: Ensure buildings comply with relevant fire safety regulations and standards, such as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in England and Wales. Check for adherence to legal requirements and industry best practices.
Recommending Improvements: Provide recommendations for improving fire safety based on assessments. Suggest upgrades to fire protection systems, enhancements to emergency procedures, and address any identified hazards.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, risk assessments, and recommended actions. These reports are essential for property owners and managers to address fire safety issues.
Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to building occupants and management on fire safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of fire safety equipment.
Periodic Reviews: Conduct periodic reviews to ensure ongoing compliance and address any changes in the building's use, occupancy, or structure that might affect fire safety.
Qualifications:
BM TRADA or equivalent Fire Safety qualification.
Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments, preferably in a housing context.
Thorough knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to provide training and guidance on fire safety practices.
