Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

* Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 am

* Ongoing position

* London borough of Barking and Dagenham

* 90 - 105 per day

* Social, emotional & cognitive support for students with various SEMH-related needs

Day to day as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

* Supporting student/students in developing their social, emotional and cognitive skills

* Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO & wider community professionals (e.g. Educational Psychologist) to ensure students are on track

* Supporting the team in creating a progressive & welcoming learning environment

* Working with student/students in various year groups with learning disabilities (Autism, ADHD) as well as Mental Health needs

Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

* Holds a high conversion rate of graduates who started as SEN TAs to now practising Psychologists (e.g. Clinical, Educational etc)

* Regular training e.g. Safeguarding, SEN Awareness etc

The ideal candidate for this Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

* Academic individual - holds a degree in a related field

* Prior experience working with students (ideal but not essential)

* Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)

* Empathetic, pro-active & ambitious (must)
