Position: Marine / Project Forwarder

Location: Southampton

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £30,000

We seek a skilled and experienced Marine / Project Forwarder who must have out-of-gauge, break bulk and project cargo experience within sea freight or shipping. A background working with a shipping agency, shipping line or vessel operation would be the perfect candidate, where you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the transportation of goods via marine vessels, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to all regulations.

Your key responsibilities as a Marine / Project Forwarder

Dealing with OOG, Breakbulk/Project Cargo shipments, planning and logistics.
Vessel charter operations (liaising with ship owners, shipbroker, internal and overseas P&M offices, port agents)
Book sub-contractors as required
Shipping documentation (eg Bills of Lading, cargo manifest, Mate receipt, LOI)
Demurrage calculations ( based on our voyage charter party)
Liaise with the client to gain technical details
Liaise with the technical team to arrange asset delivery to and from the port
Liaise with internal offices and agents to keep them informed
Send communications to clients and keep updates regular
Update clients with load/discharge sequences even when out of hours
Monitor cost accuracy from subcontractors / check port costs and try to maximise our profit by reducing our costs
Work to resolve operational issues when required
Communicate operational matters with loadmaster teams
Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade compliance laws
