XYZ Lathe Operator

The Role: GPS are delighted to be working alongside a long-standing engineering company who are currently seeking an XYZ CNC Machinist to join their Machining Department.
Working hours: 39 hours per week, working 7.30am-4pm Monday to Thursday & 7.30am to 2.30pm on Friday.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Operate and set XYZ machinery.
* Action tool changes and adjust speed movements.
* Work with a range of mild and stainless-steel materials.
* Adhere to Lean processes to reduce waste and minimise downtime.
* Read and interpret technical specifications/drawings.
* Ability to use inspection equipment to check own work.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven knowledge working with XYZ CNC machinery - essential
* Conventional turning and milling experience - desirable
* Offline programming experience - advantageous
* Apprentice trained or timeserved considered.
