Purpose of the Position

As our NPD Manager , you will be responsible for leading new product development (NPD) and existing product development (EPD) within our branded portfolio. Working closely with commercial, marketing, and technical teams, you will champion innovation, ensuring products align with market trends, customer needs, and factory capabilities. You will manage the critical path for development projects, liaise with customers and suppliers, and ensure successful product launches while maintaining cost efficiency and high service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver new products for both UK and international markets, leveraging co-packer production capabilities.
  • Develop detailed product briefs, including attributes, target costs, formats, and packaging, ensuring alignment with factory capabilities.
  • Manage project timelines, key milestones, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful product launches.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and consumer insights, briefing wider teams on opportunities and innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and co-packers, staying informed on site capabilities.
  • Represent Delamere professionally in customer and supplier meetings, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Troubleshoot and navigate challenges in NPD projects to ensure objectives are met.
  • Promote food safety and quality culture in all product development initiatives.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of UK food manufacturing.
  • A personable and professional approach to building relationships with third parties.
  • Degree-level qualification or relevant experience in Food Science, Production, or Retail.
  • Proven experience managing NPD projects from concept to launch.
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
  • Up to date with industry trends and innovations.
  • Commercially astute with a forward-thinking attitude towards innovation.
  • Full, clean driving license with willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.

  • Percentage of sales generated from products launched in the last two years.
