The head office is based in London, but the role can be offered on a remote basis, on the understanding that occasional attendance may be required.

The work itself will be to advise on general legal matters, including charity governance and regulation and commercial contracts. This will involve drafting and negotiating new agreements, advising on commercial risk, procurement, relevant IP and data protection matters and general other advice to internal stakeholders. As a key part of the in-house team, the stakeholders that you will be working and advising span all areas across the organisation including HR, fundraising, finance and IT.

As a charitable organisation a key part of the role will revolve around compliance with charity law, advising on matters in relation to charity governance, trustee responsibilities and constitutional matters. You will also be required to ensure compliance with relevant legal guidance and frameworks and policies and ensure governance and best practice within this sector.

Suitable candidates must be UK qualified lawyers or be Commonwealth qualified and have legal experience working as a lawyer within the UK. Candidates must be able to demonstrate familiarity with charity law and governance, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts and a confidence on providing general legal advice. Candidates must be able to demonstrate where they have taken ownership of legal advice, governance and compliance across an organisation and have excellent communication skills.

This is an exciting role, initially offered on a contract basis, offering the opportunity to work remotely and work within a leading international charity.
